10 Things You May Not Know About Pulse Entertainment

Pulse Entertainment is located in Clayton, North Carolina and it’s  mission is to provide personalized Disc-Jockey and Karaoke Services with a strong emphasis on quality, professionalism and reliability.  Here are a few things you probably don’t know about DJ Jim Martin:

1)  Jim stumbled into DJ’ing in Middle School.  Always known for his large stereo system, huge music collection and music knowledge he was simply asked by a good friend to bring some music to a birthday party.  Equipment, mic and music in hand he was a natural.  Soon enough he DJing for multiple parties, church functions and school dances through High School and from there expanded into other areas.

2) Pulse Entertainment was established in 2005.  Prior to establishing Pulse Entertainment DJ Jim Martin was known as DJ Sir-Mix-A-Lot until an artist of the same name became popular in the mid-90’s.  After that it was simply DJ Jim Martin until Pulse Entertainment was established.

3) The name Pulse Entertainment came from DJ Jim Martin’s involvement in a local Volunteer/Call Fire Department and Ambulance Service in Massachusetts.  The “Pulse of YOUR Party” tag-line seemed to work well tying the two jobs together.

4) DJ Jim Martin performed at a Wedding which was featured on the TLC television show “Four Weddings” in 2013!

5) When DJ Jim Martin started DJ’ing Vinyl (45’s) were still the big thing.  Jim has DJ’d through the vinyl, tape single, CD and now the digital evolution.

6) DJ Jim Martin played several events at the House of Blues and Hard Rock Cafe in Boston.  After one particular event at the Hard Rock Boston he was asked if interested in playing Karaoke on a weekly basis directly for the Hard Rock.  While thrilled to be given an opportunity such as that he turned down the offer due to the challenges involved with commuting, parking and other logistics involved with playing at that facility in Boston.

7) In 2014, DJ Jim Martin and his family moved from Massachusetts to Clayton, North Carolina.  Jim now provides Disc Jockey services to the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill areas.

8) DJ Jim Martin has an Engineering Degree from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA and his full-time job is as a Quality Assurance Manager.  Jim has studied, practices and understands the importance of “Quality”, “Professionalism”, “Service”, “Reliability” and “Technology” which are critical characteristics of being a top-rated Disc-Jockey.

9) While DJ Jim Martin studies and listens to all genres of music he finds himself listening mostly to Hard Rock and some Heavy Metal music.  Of, course the genre of music least played at most events.

10) DJ Jim Martin has always been a huge supporter of local charities and has volunteered countless hours of his time to charities and community organizations.  He is currently a Volunteer Firefighter for Thanksgiving Fire Department located in Selma, NC serving Selma and surrounding communities in the district.
